Funding Childhood Neurodisability Research
Funding breakthroughs in cerebral palsy and childhood neurodisability to give every child the best possible future.
At The Castang Foundation, we are dedicated to supporting pioneering research into cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions that impact children’s lives.
Through strategic funding and partnerships, we aim to deepen understanding of the causes of disability and to drive effective interventions that improve quality of life.
We fund high-quality research that advances knowledge of the causes, development and management of childhood neurodisability. By supporting both fundamental science and applied intervention studies, we aim to bridge gaps in current research and enable discoveries that translate into better outcomes for children and families.
What We Support
The Foundation prioritises projects with strong methodological design, clear potential for clinical relevance, and the capacity to inform future research.
We focus on:
- Basic and translational science that explores neurological development, injury, and repair.
- Intervention and evaluation studies that strengthen evidence for therapies, treatments and support pathways.
- Collaborative initiatives, symposiums and workshops that advance multidisciplinary dialogue and accelerate knowledge exchange.
Research & Fellowships
Each year The Castang Foundation funds a select number of research proposals demonstrating scientific merit, innovation and meaningful potential. Find out more using the button below.
Funding
The Foundation now funds research in partnership with other organisations. Information about our current funding mechanisms is available by clicking the button below.
Workshops
We have supported research workshops since 1994, providing a forum for clinicians and practitioners to share findings and advance understanding in childhood neurodisability. Find out more below.
A Legacy of Research Excellence
Established through the bequest of Miss Hilda Castang, the Foundation has spent decades investing in research that strengthens the scientific foundations of childhood neurodisability.
Today, we continue that legacy by supporting researchers, academics and institutions whose work can transform understanding and shape future care.
Donate to the Castang Foundation
Childhood neurodisability is very common – most people know at least one family where a child has a disability due to a neurological condition.
The Castang Foundation funds one or two new research projects each year. However, we would like to increase the amount of research we fund. Your donation to The Castang Foundation could part or completely fund research that could change children’s lives.
